Streetlight Cadence

Brighter Than Ever

We set out on this tour with exactly one goal: to have 10 people come to every show in every city. It was a long shot - most of the cities we were visiting for the very first time, and most of the shows were ticketed. As a band founded on busking, this was unfamiliar; as a business, it was a big risk to take. We thought about only booking shows this tour where we could expect larger audiences or guaranteed pay. But you’ve got to take that first step.

There’s nothing more humbling than that hour before the show when you’re sitting in an empty room after soundcheck, hoping that people show up. And then, one by one, they do; old friends seeing you for the first or hundredth time; new faces who decided to take a chance on a new band; people off the street you convinced to forego their dinner plans and come see your show instead. And with each audience member, you are grateful; grateful knowing there are thousands of musicians who would love to be where you’re at in this moment, even if you are only playing for 10 people. It’s worth giving all you’ve got every single night. It keeps you grounded.

We barely broke even this tour - but we did meet our goal. Thankful for our many friends who shared the stage with us this leg. Thankful to the countless people who hosted and fed us every night. And to everyone who came to a show - we’re overwhelmed with gratitude. Thank you for being a part of this adventure.
