Loved our time on Big Island
Our weekend started off with Ben and Jon going on a secret Target mission to acquire donuts and coffee...to celebrate Clara's birthday at the airport! It was a sweet time to see all of our friends at the Hawai'i Songwriting Festival, which we've been attending since 2014. It's a little strange going back, year after year, because we're now in a place where we're mostly volunteering and connecting people...so participating, but not really participating. It's a gray area we've been living in and we're still trying to figure it out.
After the festival, we played a house concert in a beautiful neighborhood called Kohala-By-the-Sea...and people showed up! Before our second-to-last number, the Big Island rain came down...so we moved everything inside and crammed everyone in the living room as we played "Sunset Eyes" and "End of the World". It was a beautiful moment.
And of course, we made stops at Waimea Coffee Company and Village Burger, two non-negotiables when we're on Big Island - we know our priorities haha!!!
