It's time for the next chapter

Last January, the three of us sat down in a boardroom (literally) and thought long and hard about the future of the band. At the time, we had been playing as a trio for about a year, and had just come off of two short but sweet tours, covering Hawaiâi, the west coast, and Texas. We werenât sure of how big we wanted to go, or if we were even ready for that. The real goal, then, was to take things one step at a time, and have fun. And in the midst of that contemplation, we decided to go for the second season of âWill Play For Foodâ.
With the help of many friends, we carried some cameras alongside our instruments and proceeded to film a television series while touring. We reconnected with loved ones; mourned the versions of ourselves we lost; celebrated how weâve both grown. And in it all, in many ways, we felt the gift that music brings to all of us at every stop, in every venue, and on every street corner.
It wasnât without its challenges. Always cash-strapped and often in somewhat perilous situations, we kept our momentum despite the cloud of uncertainty that constantly had us questioning if it was all worth it. It wouldnât have been possible had it not been for the countless number of people who invited us into their homes (sometimes on the spot!), fed us, encouraged us, and even (in the middle of Arkansas) refunded our AirBnb in an effort to show us we were doing something good. Sometimes itâs hard to see it when youâre wrapped in a bedsheet on the floor at a Motel 6, but looking backâŠ
Itâs time. Because now, perhaps more than ever, weâre standing in our corner of the ring to find the good. Mr. Rogers said to âLook for the helpers.â We didnât have to look far. We just had to keep going.
And when you do, youâll experience beautiful moments of ecstasy and also of heartbreak; the ones that make you who you are and help you decide what you do with the limited time you have on this earth.Â
Even through the eyes of a street-performing indie band, youâll find strangers who will drop everything theyâve got to be your friend. And it happens if you dare let it.
Thereâs good when you least expect it.
Weâve seen it in you.Â
